wine + cupcakes = heaven

the fella and i went to our friends’ place for dinner, and he suggested that i bake a treat to bring over. well, specifically, he suggested that i make these settlers of catan cupcakes. that seemed a little too complicated, but reminded me of yet another pinterest recipe i’ve been dying to try – moscato cupcakes! as luck would have it, i had a bottle of moscato (my favorite wine) in the fridge. so while the fella and his friend brewed some beer (he likes to make stuff, too!) i whipped these up.

they. are. DELICIOUS!!!

this is probably the most perfect batch of cupcakes i’ve ever baked. they turned out exactly the same size, perfectly rounded, perfectly cooked. the icing also has moscato and is to die for!

another idea i had seen on pinterest is making “glitter” out of sugar and food coloring. i don’t think i pinned it, since it seemed to simple – just add a few drops of food coloring to some sugar and shake it up! so, i made some yellow “glitter” and topped half the batch with it, and left half with just the icing.

i was in a rush after icing them, so forgot to take a photo of the finished product – so i took a picture of what remained after dinner. 🙂

About Liv

i have a lot of hobbies. i cook and bake – usually, from scratch. i paint, though not as often as I would like. i love to make pottery on the wheel, though this hobby fell by the wayside while I was in grad school. now that I’ve finished, I’m looking forward to potentially getting back into ceramics and devoting more time and energy to all of my hobbies. my mom got me hooked on refinishing garage sale or thrift shop furniture into beautiful, rich pieces for the home. and my true love is crochet – i love the feeling of achievement in taking a ball of yarn and a hook and turning it into a beautiful afghan or purse or set of coasters. in some way or another, all of these hobbies center around making things – thus, creation nation.
