if so, i haven’t found it.
i failed yet again to eat all the bananas before they started to turn brown. but i have been getting restless with banana muffins and banana bread. the crumb topping helped with the last batch of muffins, but it wasn’t too long ago that i made those. i had some cream cheese that i needed to use so off to the googles i went; i figured there must be a recipe for banana bread with cream cheese filling, right? well, what i found instead was a recipe for banana bread with cream cheese mixed right into the batter. that seemed easier than messing with a filling (especially for weeknight baking), so i decided to give it a whirl.
yum! i prefer this to regular banana bread, which is just a touch too banana-y for my liking. the texture of this is also awesome – so creamy and soft! i just ate the end slice and even that was awesome! officially added to the repertoire (much to the dismay of the fella, who hates anything banana).
- lighter in color than normal banana bread
- soft, creamy texture
